IRC has been working in Pakistan for approximately 40 years, managing and delivering large, complex programs to meet the needs in health, education, safeguarding, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor and disaster affected communities. With the support of the federal and provincial governments, and generous donors like FCDO, ECHO, USAID, GAC and Australian Aid Agencies the IRC is currently implementing projects across the country.

The IRC launched 5-year USAID’s “Women’s Economic Empowerment Activity” (WEEA) to promote women’s economic empowerment through safe and dignified access to livelihood opportunities, information, resources, and services in the target districts of Pakistan. The WEEA target districts include a total of six districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision and mentorship of Program Officer, the intern will provide support in performing effective coordination with internal team and key stakeholders for facilitation in project implementation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting.

This position is a great opportunity to gain experience in humanitarian and development sectors as well as to learn about IRC. In addition, intern will be familiarized with all areas of project management and organization’s different departments (Finance, Human Resources, Award Management, Security and Supply Chain) as well as opportunity to learn and improve; report writing skills, coordination, communication and its protocols, and other areas of work related to project management in non-profit sector.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist Program Officer in collecting information for different reports, internal and external communication, and presentations.

• Assists in developing and/or drafting communication products like reporting, meeting minutes and other communication related tasks.

• Support in preparing and finalizing all internal paperwork consulting different departments; HR, Supply Chain, Finance etc.

• Organize meetings and coordinate with participants and make arrangements for meetings for program review meetings.

• Support team in performing different administrative tasks (as/when required)

• Provide support in preparing and finalizing all internal paperwork

• Record Keeping and data management of event/activities.

• Consolidate different documents and other relevant task as assigned by line manager.

Internal: Program and Program Support teams at country and field office as well as Partner

External: N/A

Position Requirements:

A) Education

• Fresh graduate (Bachelors/Masters) in Social Sciences, Sociology, Education, Project Management or any other relevant degree, communication field or social sciences.

B) Experience

• No previous experience required. Understanding of the non-profit sector will be a plus.

C) Skills

• Knowledge of software (Microsoft Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, English and Urdu keyboard)

• Good in communication and analytical skills

• Team worker with flexibility;

D) Language Skills:

• Strong English language skills both written and spoken;
